Fort Wayne, Indiana
Over 3,400 Burmese have relocated to Fort Wayne, the second largest city in Indiana, since 2000. This city has become a popular new home because of its low housing cost, low crime rate, and cultural diversity that it has gained from many other refugee populations. Fort Wayne also has such a strong, growing community that many new convenience options, such as Burmese grocery stores now exist in the city. The city is also home to many non-profit agencies, such as Burmese Advocacy Center, that help with community services.
